A man who helped define the look of Batman in the 70's and 80's died Tuesday morning, from complications related to a recent illness. Read more here. Jim Aparo would probably be called by many the difinitive Batman artist.
While I was always more a fan of his Aquaman and Spectre work from D.C.'s Adventure Comics, of the 70's, I always have great respect and admiration for artists who contribute so much to a single character over a long period of time. It generally means they are reliable, loyal, professional and pretty much honorable all the way 'round.
He'll be missed.
