It’s really very difficult to take in the scope of damage from Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath, i.e., the levy disaster, in the Big Easy. When I see the news footage, it looks like the ruinous results of a disaster we all saw not long ago, in Indonesia. It just doesn’t seem the United States should have it’s own refugees, but that is exactly what we have now. Recovery will take years, and some way, somehow, I believe all or most of us will be affected. I’m not talking about gas prices. I’m talking about knowing someone who knows someone who was directly affected by this tragedy. This, one of the worst natural disasters in our nation’s history.
There are, however, ways we can all help. I'll plug two of them: The Red Cross, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
If neither suits you, just Google "Hurricane Katrina Relief," or "Hurricane Katrina Aid," or something similar. You'll come up with something.
